Hi-Herald August 1964

As you may remember, we former MBHS students in the Hervey Bay area hold a lunch every couple of months. At the most recent event a couple of weeks ago, Jack Taylor brought along his copy of the Hi-Herald and I promised to post it on the web. I hope you enjoy this nostalgic read as much as I did.

If you click on a page, it should enlarge.

4MB (now Triple M) is celebrating its 90th birthday. It started in 1932 on the 16th August.

Here is a link to some more information about the anniversary on the current Mayor's Facebook page.

I hated the cross-country and I was one of those who invariably got my feet wet in the creek.

We were younger then, but Jim Martin still looks the same.

We all have our visual memories and mine include watching Gary run a 440 race at full pace. The best I could do at full pace was about 300 yards. He was amazing.

I hope Derek remembers his poem with pride. We all had our talents, some of which we kept to ourselves or did not develop until later life. One of the best things about our lunches is hearing stories from our lives about things we did or talents we discovered.
